There are only certain days within this sport when we watch a motorist win a race and it brings delight. Last Sunday in Monza was just one of those days.
I don’t believe there was – Lewis Hamilton, Valtteri Bottas along with Toto Wolff down appeared to be joyful for the young Monegasque celebrity!
Qualifying was utterly eccentric and borderline comical. Each and every driver was clearly chasing the slipstream, as it had been worth about half an instant. Mercedes and a smart game played with strategically by getting Valtteri to move and dividing their alternatives. After a few laps of Lewis piling on the pressure and Leclerc just making one mistake it was the world champion who left a mistake himself. It showed it was to stop the car in the end of the long in a bumpy braking zone and exactly how difficult they pushed. This mistake from Lewis allowed Bottas to pick up the baton and creep up the strain himself.
More Leclerc did not waste energy mirror-watching, soaked up the pressure, and kept his thoughts down. The Mercedes was visibly more planted however the straight-line rate of the red car was enough to keep him ahead.

The one person in a shirt feeling joyful would be Sebastian Vettel. His spin in the Ascari chicane has been the latest in a run of errors that started back in Hockenheim this past calendar year, but how he rejoined the trail and left Lance Stroll with nowhere to go was a serious misjudgement that could have had much bigger implications for both drivers. The simple fact that Stroll then did the exact same matter originated. I’m not making excuses for Lance but merely saying I can understand it a bit more compared to Vettel’s transfer.
It is hard to feel the European season is over and we’re off to Singapore alongside for its flyaways. I totally anticipate Red Bull and Max Verstappen to be battling with the Mercedes drivers around the streets of Singapore. Lewis delivered one of the largest laps ever seen in Formula 1, and now I am really excited to see whether he can be beaten by the Dutchman next week!
